Vadodara: Unions of workers and employees working for the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) held a ‘Ramdhun’ recital at the Khanderao Market headquarters of the civic body on Saturday to press for their demands. The unions have started the agitation since Thursday demanding permanent employments in VMC instead of contractual or temporary appointments.

They have also sought that the temporary or contractual employees relieved by the VMC should be taken back into service.

The unions have asked workers and employees to go on a mass casual leave on Monday. If their demands are not met even then, the unions have threatened to intensify their agitation from Tuesday.
